What are the real costs of a solar

The current cost of pannels is comming down. This will not translate into cheaper installs. Installers are buying pannels for as low as $2 per watt. For a 1.5 KW system that would be around $3000. Systems are being sold between $5 and $7 per watt installed (less subsidies) so the pannel cost is less than 40% of the total.
Fittings, Inverters and wiring take up a further percentage with labour often exceeding the cost of the pannels
Net result is pannels will become cheaper, but this will not have a large inpact on final instal costs.
